How does Image Recommendation work?

Modified on Wed, 14 Mar 2018 at 02:34 PM

The Image Recommendation feature in Crowdfire recommends fresh, relevant images often, to keep your social media accounts active and get you the right followers.

Currently, there are two ways Crowdfire recommends images to you:
1. Based on the topics/interests you selected while signing up
2. Based on the hashtags you use in your Instagram posts

Based on the topics/interests you selected while signing up

Crowdfire has partnered with the world's best image providers to bring you content that will interest you and your audience. The images that are shown to you depend on the topics you selected during the sign up process.

If you selected "Nature" as one of the topics, Crowdfire will show you images related to Landscapes, Mountains, Flowers, Wildlife, and so on.
If you selected "Business" as one of the topics, Crowdfire will show you images related to Entrepreneurship, Quotes, Team Building, Communication, and so on.

Based on the hashtags you use in your Instagram posts

To begin with, we look at the kind of pictures you've posted and more specifically, the hashtags you've used in the past. We then maintain a list of these hashtags so we know what kind of content you'll be interested in.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have proactively marked out a few users as a part of the Crowdfire Creators Program who are putting out good content and posting great images every day. We explicitly seek permission from these users to repost their content and use their images with due credits. Once they opt-in to the Crowdfire Creators Program, we maintain a hashtag bank for these Creators as well.

Crowdfire then compares your master list of hashtags with the hashtags of the Creators and if there's an overlap, it means, we have found relevant content for us to recommend to you.

For example, if you've been using hashtags like #fashion #designer #creativity, Crowdfire looks for Creators in the system who have posted original content with the same hashtags.

As and when there is a match between topics selected by you and images shared by Crowdfire Creators creators, we will bring more images for you to share!
